Tallahassee Tiger Sharks!

If any of our locals have stopped by the store or even browsed our online shop, you might have seen some T-shirt designs like these...

What most people don't know is that the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks were an actual minor-league hockey team that played right here at the Donald L. Tucker Center from 1994-2001. The team originally started in Nashville back in 1981 and changed several names and cities before arriving to Tallahassee. They were very successful in their first season, finishing in second place in the West Division. They were even able to make it to the playoff games each year until their 1997-98 season when they failed to qualify. After continuous upsets, the franchise packed up and moved to Georgia where they became the Macon Whoope. Not long after they moved to Lexington, Kentucky and then finally settled in West Valley City, Utah where they currently play as the Utah Grizzlies.

In the spirit of the game, this video shows one of many Tallahassee Tiger Sharks brawling with an opponent in the middle of a game. Exciting stuff!

Olde Fields is lucky enough to have partnered up with a company that shares similar beliefs about products made in the United States and a love for vintage styles. Our Tallahassee Tiger Sharks T-shirts are purchased through Local Vyntage, a company that thrives on nostalgia. Similar to our own designs, Local Vyntage provides U.S. made, labeled, and screen printed shirts that bring back blast from the past designs. Chet Winnick founded his company in 2016 and has been making t-shirts that really speak to people of small towns and remind them of all the memories they have shared there. We thank Chet for allowing our store to represent Tallahassee and help our locals show their pride and love for this amazing city.
